The legal duty

If you control a commercial building, the duty to manage asbestos is yours.

Under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, whoever maintains or repairs non-domestic premises holds an explicit, ongoing duty. It isn't met by a single survey - it has to be managed, recorded and kept current.
